Add assets
Upload assets
Assets can be added manually from the map or 3D view or uploaded as DXF, GeoJSON or .shp files to GISGRO.
Add manually in GISGRO
Right-click at the selected point and select Add asset. On the map, you can also add line and area markers via right-click.
You can add assets via map, 3D and 360 photos.
You can turn measurements into an asset by clicking the Add marker icon in the measurement panel.
You can pick buildings as an asset by right-clicking a building on the map and selecting Pick building as a marker.
Note! Building picking works only if you have LIGHT or DARK base map active and you have zoomed in.

Upload DXF/DWG/GeoJSON/shp files
Upload multiple assets simultaneously by opening the upload panel. If the possibility to import assets including attributes has been activated on your account, you can also import supported attributes and create attribute schemas for asset categories. Select Assets as a type and either drag-and-drop file to the map or click Upload. After that, select the types you want to import (all /areas/lines).
If you are interested in the possibility to upload asset data including attributes please contact sales!
Before you import assets, you can:
- Modify the category;
By default, assets will have the layer defined in the file (e.g., in DXF file the layer will be the category)
You can force all imported assets to the same category by creating a new category and selecting Force selected category on all assets
If you have assets without category information, those will be added to this category by default
- Select if you want to import attributes with the asset data
- Create a new attribute schema
You need to choose this option if you are importing attributes to an asset category for the first time. This option uses the attribute value types to create a schema that will be used when adding new assets to that category in the future. Note that creating attribute schemas is only possible for Admin users!
- Select the assets which you don't want to import by deselecting them on the list
With GeoJSON, you can also define asset's name, category, description, tags and identifiers.
If you are uploading assets as .shp files the files need to be compressed into one ZIP file!
After uploading, access your assets via the asset panel.

Editing
From the menu icon in the top-right corner of an asset’s info panel, you can export, archive, or delete the asset. In the info panel, you can view or edit the details and attachments, and add defects or comments. Change the asset’s location from the info panel by clicking the Edit the markers position by dragging it icon, drag the marker to the new location, and save the changes.

Marker Export tool
If you need information on the markers outside GISGRO, you can export them as Excel files. The export option is available for assets, notes, defects and incidents under the menu in the top-right corner of their panel. Once you select Export, an automatic download will begin.
The panels, which can be found on the right, show a list of the markers in question. You can filter them by choosing categories, tags, and locations or by writing the name of a particular marker. If you apply any filter before exporting the marker information, the exported file will include only the filtered markers.
The downloaded file contains all the information on each asset, note, defect or incident listed on the panel at that moment. Please check your filters to ensure that you download the data you need.
